The alarm clock goes off- whether It be the baby , kids, dog or an actual alarm clock- or the thoughts that just begin to loom within your head. Instantly, the routines start to take over: breakfast, dishes, lunches to be made. The Magical spark you were once dreaming of the night before feels like a distant memory. It’s so easy for the inspiration to get buried amongst the everyday spinning wheel that is life.

How do we connect the two? How do we get the dreams and hopes of what we want to actual reality? And what do we need to do to achieve them?

The secret is…. there’s no big secret. It is simply a matter of believing in ourselves and starting with one small step or change. Something that can help project your creativity, your motivation, your future!

What I suggest is to start by getting all the thoughts, hopes, goals, dream out of your head and on to paper. Whether that be a dedicated journal or on a random piece of paper put where you can see. Somewhere where you can visualize it.Think of it as creating positive, encouraging affirmation for yourself.

I actually got the idea from my oldest daughter. One day while tiding her art desk while at school, being frustrated by all the clutter I looked around-really looked around- and noticed on the wall she had written these affirmations, herself.

Why was it so easy for my daughter to write down what she was feeling and wanting to believe in and for herself? Why couldn’t I do the same? Why is it when the added chaos of life as an adult is added to your everyday mix, we can’t seem to remember any of these things? The chaos of of life sure will let you think you can’t do any of this.

SMALL, INTENTIONAL STEPS

So small steps is what I set out of accomplish. Small intentional steps. Ones that don’t feel too overwhelming, but instead blend naturally into the routine and add true value to it.

It started with jotting down random ideas I had throughout the day, the night, or just something Is saw in passing. To be honest, I’m not the person who is going to wake up at 5:00 A.M. every day to exercise and get my journal time in. I am a mom who will do it when I feel inspired and whatever time slot it fits in to that specific day. I realized the more pressure I put on myself the less I wanted to do it. By shifting my mindset to how I feel after it’s done ( exercise, writing down ideas, finishing a project, researching a future vacation) , I finally began to stick with things.

Finding the Magic in Everyday

I think that is why my daughter wrote those affirmations on her wall. It is the feeling she gets when she looks at them. It’s not about having to be a certain way every single day. Just knowing deep down- even on the bad days, even on the days you don’t want to want to do it-what you set out.

The feeling you get when you do believe in yourself, and accomplish even something as small as taking a walk, that can have an impact your mindset and Motivation every day….

And that…. that is the Magic right there.
